A separate crash near Owenville along Route 5 killed Dr E C Ireton and wife and Lucy B Schuyler and injured others aboard a east bound bus and a Chevrolet sedan prompting investigation and hospital transfers.

Drowning of Stewart Carter Baffles Remington Funeral Plans
The 18 year old Stewart Carter drowned in the Little Miami River while swimming with his sister in Remington. Sheriff Roberts oversaw recovery after a night search. Coroner Corliss was absent, and the body was moved to undertakers for burial preparation. It was ruled an accidental death.

Batavia won its season opener by 3 to 1 over the Mt. Washington Gun Club on Decoration Day. Temple pitched well for Batavia, holding the Gun Club to five scattered hits. Lehnehmer started strong for the Gun Club but faded. the game stayed tight 2 to 3 until the ninth when Smith stole second and scored on Fishback’s Dart to second, misplayed by the shortstop.
