Scouts from Amelia Batavia neighborhoods held a Bridging event at Camp Butter Worth. Brownies learned about first aid fire building knot tying outdoor dressing and knife safety across six stations while Juniors completed a welcoming ceremony and six activity stations. Each third grade Brownie earns a Bridge to Juniors patch and the Juniors receive a Junior Aide patch at the Court of Awards.

Courier spotlight First in animal care in Ohio
Mike Julian, Batavia senior in Live Oaks Vocational School Animal Care Program, topped Ohio state competition earning the State FFA Animal Production and Care Proficiency Award. He worked at two veterinary hospitals, raised a market lamb, and led FFA activities while earning state honors in grooming and public speaking.
