Family Service Consultant Appointed for Clermont County

James R. Carruthers and Anna Budd Ware announce Mr. Anderson as Family Service Consultant for Clermont County. He will continue the Cincinnati Area program offering confidential casework, liaising with physicians and officials to prevent family breakdown, serving all regardless of race or status. Office hours are 9 to 5, with Thursday evenings until 8. Appointments at 381-6300. Anderson, a Columbia School of Social Work graduate, previously worked three years at the Child Welfare Armed Forces Examining and Induction Station in Fort Thomas. he lives in Mt. Auburn.

County Wins Welfare Grant for Training and Jobs

The Clermont County Dept. of Welfare will receive 339200 from a federal grant funded through the Ohio Dept. of Welfare to train welfare recipients for employment. The program aims to aid 150 unemployed fathers and 100 unemployed mothers, employing a project director two counselors two clerks and a placement officer. Training fields include practical nursing cosmetology and food service with full support during work training.

Hearing set Aug 10 in school case in Clermont court

A hearing is scheduled for 10 a m August 10 in Clermont County Common Pleas Court to modify an injunction stopping effluent from Elizabeth Seton School Mulberry discharging onto Mrs Laura Early s property. Archbishop Karl Alter and Rev Carl Steinbicher filed the new action while Judge John H Houston will review testimony from the original suit and keep the injunction in place.

Glen Este Band Practice Begins

The Glen Este High School Band begins summer rehearsal on Monday August 2 at 9 a.m. announced by Director E. K. Dugan. Invitations have been received for parades. all members should attend to finalize arrangements. Junior and senior high students may take free private lessons on band instruments by contacting Mr. Dugan at 752-1787.

Zimmer Named OD At Orphan Feast

William H. Zimmer president of Cincinnati Gas & Electric Co will serve as Officer of the Day at the 116th Orphan Feast by the Protestant Orphan Home chaired by Andrew Hopple. The Sept 12 event will be at Beech Acres Beechmont Avenue. Zimmer has long supported the Home and youth groups including Dan Beard Council Boy Scouts and Family Service.

Appalachian Roads Get Commission Approval in Ohio Corridor Plan

The Appalachian Regional Commission approves 175 miles of major development highway corridors in Ohio under the Appalachian Development Program. Ohio Corridor Projects Map Three Routes and Plans

The report outlines three corridors in Ohio as part of a highway development program. Corridor One spans 43.1 miles in Ohio with 4.7 miles to be under construction next year. Bids Sought On Clermont County Road Projects

Ohio Department of Highways accepts bids until 10 a.m. August 17 for two contracts covering 4.02 miles of Route 774 and 0.29 mile of Route 222 in Tate Franklin and Washington Townships, plus 10.83 miles of Route 232 and 10.87 miles of Route 756 across Monroe Tate Washington and Franklin Townships. The notice cites surface courses and surface treatments to be performed.

Thieves Take License and Registration Forms

Burglars broke a window at Deputy Registrar Frances Gallagher in Batavia on Wednes night. They pried open a file cabinet and stole numerous license and registration documents including temporary permits 17 34657 to 17 346800 and operator licenses 15 159373 to 15 159400 along with 43 motorcycle registrations and related cards. State trooper and police chief investigated and found no license tags missing.

Clarence G. Strand, former Penney’s manager in Milford, promoted to store manager of the J C Penney in Latham New York. Haussermanns Will Names Heirs In Clermont Probate

The will of Judge John W Haussermann filed in Clermont County Probate Court details a multi million dollar estate. He leaves about 600000 to be divided with 400000 in personal property and 200000 in real estate. The First National Bank of Cincinnati acts as trustee and co executors include Lucian H Dawson. The will, made in 1961, names Miss Jean M. Gordon as secretary to assist co executors for 24 months at 400 dollars monthly and grants her the right to reside in the 42 room mansion until disposal. Twelve nieces nephews and cousins receive 12000 dollars total at 100 dollars monthly. The late wife’s estate valued around 3 million dollars and held in trust for her husband and two sons will transfer into the sons trust. Five cadillacs accompany the document as successors in case of death of those named.

Two Arrested In Laundromat Theft

Cecil B. Ducolon ages 34 and John E. Wilson were arrested in Batavia for stealing $40 from Nichols Laundromat coin boxes on Main Street. Police say Ducolon was seen at the coin box by Batavia Police Chief Ed Colonel. Wilson found $7.25 in coins near his office across the street. Four hearings set for 10 a.m. August 2 in Clermont County Court. other money remains missing.

Highway Hearings Scheduled for Clermont County Aug 19

Public hearings on highway improvements in Clermont County are scheduled for August 19. One session at 10 a.m. at New Richmond High School will cover replacement of bridges and culverts and the relocation of Rt. 743 in Bond. A second hearing at Bethel Tate High School at 2 p.m. will cover the relocation of Rt. 125 and Rt. 222 in Tate Township and the Rt. 15 corridor changes.
