Clermont County joins a fall testing program for tuberculin in grades one seven and ten in public and private schools. Dr James Millan outlined PTA roles July 18 at Northeastern high school and testing will use consent slips sent home to parents.

Court Ruling Allows Rumpke Rd Business to Use Building

Judge John Houston permanently restrains Union Township from interfering with Richard D. Todd using 4729 Rumpke Rd Summer Side for storage parts sales and repair. The injunction covers the building only. driveway and adjacent land face limits on noisy work in mornings and evenings.

Villages Curb Interest in County Incinerator Plan

At a county meeting, villages and townships opposed county operated incinerators though county officials pushed a plan for two plants. Engineer Harlan Mace noted landfills are cheaper but poorly managed, and a $5 per ton fee would be needed for incinerator refuse. A joint discussion was planned with Amelia Bethel Felicity New Richmond Owensville Williamsburg represented. Franklin Ohio and Williamsburg townships were absent. A 62 foot steel girder for a new $47 million fifth electric unit at Walter C Beckford Station near New Richmond was installed helping support a massive boiler.

Northeastern Hires New Executive Head

Maurice A. Lenz named executive head of Clermont Northeastern board of education on a three year contract replacing J. W. Evans who retires after 33 years. Lenz comes from Wakeman Western Reserve school system where he served ten years and was chosen from 11 candidates. The district has three elects and one com in high school with 70 faculty and 1,900 students. Lenz and his wife Bernice plan to move nearby. they have two children Rick in Palm Springs and Patt in Wilmantie Conn.

Loveland approves charter with 94.8 percent majority

Loveland voters approved a city charter in a special election by 661 to 37. Earlier the charter study commission won 93 percent. in November seven councilmen will be elected and they will choose a mayor and a city manager. Precinct results varied by district.
