Prominent Owensville Citizen Anthony Buerkle Dies
Anthony Buerkle of Owensville died after a long, honored life at age 82. Born in Baden Germany in 1821 he immigrated in 1848 and settled in Stonelick township, later shoemaking and farming. He left 11 children and 44 grandchildren with 5 great grandchildren. Funeral at Catholic church followed by burial in Catholic cemetery. Rev. Father Gallagher officiated.

Broken Shaft and Broken Leg Hit Local Couple
Henry Barnett, a public building janitor, broke his leg when a carriage shaft failed near Burg hill Friday night. His wife Mrs Burnett was thrown, damaged teeth and bruises, as Barnett tried to control the runaway horse. Both were cared for at home after the accident.

Wealthy Moscow Resident Dies After Starvation
Paria C. Brown of Moscow, a wealthy tobacco grower and dealer, died at Seton hospital Cincinnati on Monday July 13 after paralysis of the throat prevented nourishment. He was 53, survived by a widow and two children, and leaves many friends. The body was taken to Sandy Springe Kentucky for burial.

Nancy Carter and others sue Clermont County Commissioners for 250 dollars claiming land 25 feet wide and 700 feet long was taken and a fence destroyed during a free turnpike construction between Elk Lick and Batavia without prior agreement. F M Edwards and family hosted Friday July 10 a gathering for their son John Edwards of Chicago who had been away fifteen years.
