Storms Hit Miami Township Crops in Two Hail Events
Two storms struck Miami township last Friday with hail between 12 00 and 1 00 PM and 1 00 to 2 00 PM. The second storm caused extensive crop damage as tobacco stalks were destroyed and carp beds damaged by heavy bail. The area also faced a similar destructive storm in September of last year. No insurance covered the standing crop.

Lights Must Be Dimmed Under Pence Auto Light Law
In Columbus Ohio on July 10 the Pence auto light law set for August 17 ends mandatory new devices. A committee led by Leon C Herrick found owners need not buy costly gear and recommends 4800 candle power at 200 feet ahead for passenger cars and 1200 candle power at 100 feet for two ton plus tracks. The Highway Department may run a laboratory to test lights and devices for enforcement.

Lightning Strikes Telegraph Pole Wounding Batavian

Ladies Guests of Men at Williamsburg Birthday Club Trip
The Williamsburg Birthday Club of ladies was entertained by their husbands at the Zoo last Monday afternoon. Former Batavian Katie Sullivan Dies in Cincinnati
Mrs. Katie Sullivan a former Batavian died at her Cincinnati home on Thursday at 1 o clock and was buried in Batavia Friday at 4 pm. Funeral services were held at her Batavia home in the morning and at her father Karl Hoerner's home in the afternoon. She had suffered for months. She leaves three sons and three daughters. Born and raised in Batavia she had many friends.
