Milford store robbed of 2500 in merchandise

Merchandise valued at about 2500 was stolen in a break in at Tri County Sales and Service at 5 Water Street Milford. Theft occurred Thursday night or early Friday with entry through the back gate. Police found damaged fixtures and a damaged cash register. several TV sets and portable record players were taken.

River Days Festival Set At New Richmond

New Richmond plans a three day River Days Festival August 2 to 4 with theme This Is My Country. Cler monty County officials and Mayor Charles Wrigglesworth attend opening events at 4 p.m. Friday. Community groups provide patriotic entertainment and a boat in pancake breakfast and water ski show cap the weekend. Auction items from Judge Haussermann estate will be sold by Kiwanis at the former Christian Church. Anyone may enter the parade with no registration.

Armed Robbery Charges Filed Against trio in VFW Post holdup

Three men face armed robbery charges after a holdup at Cler mont County VFW Post 3954 last Wednesday. A gunfight at Summit and Green briar roads sparked a countywide manhunt. About $40 was stolen from Joseph Remley County Board of Elections member, and William Thompson assistant dog warden. The suspects are Harold Sentman Carl McCleese and Joseph Hones Jr.

Trustees Clerks Picnic Set for Thursday Evening

Harley Clark announced that the Clermont County Association of Township Trustees and Clerks will hold its annual picnic Thursday evening July 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stonelick Lake Park. All members and their families are expected to attend with eating at 7 p.m.

Howard E. Wilson 41 formerly of Xenia and Batavia has been named executive vice president of the Lebanon Citizens National Bank. New Richmond residents in a 3 square mile area north and east of the village plan to circulate petitions for annexation over the next 10 days for county commission presentation. About 133 homes would gain village water and services if approved while a majority favored joining the village.

Milford Jaycees honor Wayne L Smith at banquet

Wayne L Smith vice president of Clermont National Bank and Milford Board of Education was named outstanding young man at the Milford Jaycees installation banquet held Wednesday at Milford Community Hall. Sparkplug awards went to Ed Finkbeiner Ron Carey Bill Byars Jim Florea Walt Keblen and Ron Lieberman. The outgoing president Jim Florea urged growth through local youths and outlined new programs including school support junior Jaycee group political awareness and reading and library drives with a teen rodeo and junior golf tournament.
