Ohio National Guard Company B Heads to Camp Perry Training
Approximately 45 officers and men of Company B 147th Infantry Ohio National Guard depart Batavia station at 7:45 a m July 20 for Camp Perry Ohio for a two week field training period. Captain Massey leads Clermont county unit as it trains with new weapons. A July 22 hearing is set for West Halter near Mammville charged with shooting a bull owned by Levi Ingram Hazlewood and out on 200 dollars bond.

State Police Expand Traffic Safety Checks Countywide
State Police with local chiefs intensified highway safety checks since July. From July 1 to now, six checks produced 99 warnings and multiple vehicle defects noted. Two accidents occurred last week on Route 125 near Bethel involving passengers from New Richmond and Cincinnati drivers.
