Clermont County Commissioners have positioned four units of life saving equipment across Clermont County and trained local groups in Batavia Felicity New Richmond Milford and Batavia police and sheriff staff. Emergency numbers are listed for Felicity New Richmond Milford and Batavia.

Local Group Visits WLW's Everybody's Farm in Mason

Clermont County FHA Ownership group and county personnel toured Everybody's Farm Mason Ohio on Saturday July 19. Forty people attended the farm visit for WLW broadcasts at 1240 and 1300 p m with Roy Battles and Betty Brady on air. Earl Neal led a farm tour while Marie Neal showed a farm kitchen. After broadcasts the group picnicked at Sharon Woods with families including Lloyd Murrell Howard Gaskins Clyde Henson Ernest Straub Leslie Straub Pascal Stahl Dean Meeks Wayford Metzger Russell England and Mrs June Schultz.

Meranda Becomes First Tenant in Clermont County Vet Housing

Charles G. Meranda of New Richmond is the first resident selected for one of the emergency veteran housing units in Clermont County. He and his family occupied an apartment in the Henderson building, which was destroyed by fire weeks ago, with most belongings lost. Local veteran groups select tenants and the County Commissioners grant final approval.

Mrs Hamilton Hosts Olive Branch Home Demonstration Club

Fern Hamilton chaired a July 17 meeting with 11 members. Edith Stoddard and Harry Smythe were named to plan a Clermont County Fair project. Agent presented tips on canning. Next meeting set for August 20 at Olive Branch Church. all homemakers invited.

Mt Moriah to Sponsor Lawn Fete at Tabasco

Howard G. Whitt of Route 2 Batavia completed a 30 week refrigeration and air conditioning course under the GI Bill. The Mt Moriah Methodist Church will host a lawn fete Saturday July 26 from 6 to 11 pm at the Masonic Hall Tabasco. The event will feature an amateur contest at the Institute in Chicago and Whitt is ready to take a position in the air conditioning field.

More Road Repairs Considered in Columbus

Bids for repairing three roads will be considered in Columbus on July 22. Bituminous treatment will be used and work must finish by October 1, 1947. Projects include 2.95 miles of SR 133 in Williamsburg and Jackson townships, 5.6 miles of SR 133 in Wayne and Jackson townships, and 0.488 miles of SR 756 in Washington and Franklin townships.

Clermont County Baseball League Weekend Scores

Newtonsville lost twice to Milford as Bohl pitched both games. Mt Crab beat New Richmond Legion 15 to 7 with Wilvens winning. Mt Carmel's Loveland VFW lost star centerfielder Charles Fink after a collision. Carmel beat Loveland. Felicity defeated Williamsburg Legion 13 to 4 as Puckett and Lewis pitched.

Williamsburg Marks 150th Anniversary Celebration

Williamsburg to celebrate the village 150th founding with a two day program at the school grounds. Highlights include Renfro Valley Folks on Friday and Saturday, a grand parade at 1 PM Saturday, and an address by Tom McCarthy of WERC at 3:30 PM. Clermont County Teachers to gain salary increases from state funding

State action allocates 191800 to Clermont County for salaries and maintenance. Bethel, New Richmond, Williamsburg, Goshen, Amelia, Batavia and Felicity each receive specific boosts. other districts listed with smaller amounts. Standings show Mt Carmel leads. Sunday schedule includes Amelia at Mt Carmel and Goshen at Williamsburg among other pairings.

Guard Company Moves to Camp Perry for Field Training

Infantry units lined up at Batavia’s railroad station early Sunday as Company B, 147th Infantry departed for Camp Perry Ohio for ongoing field training under its commanding officer.

Local Pony Winner At Sharon Woods Contest

Charles Edward Strothman of Batavia won a new pony named Side Kick in a Monogram Pictures sponsored contest at the WLW Mailbag picnic in Sharon Woods Cincinnati. The event drew 7,000 contestants. West Halter near Miamiville was bound over to the Clermont County Grand Jury on malicious destruction of property charges after a hearing before Mayor A. C. Munden of Batavia. Levi Ingram of Hazlewood had accused Halter of shooting a bull on Halter’s property.

Program Complete For Farm Picnic At Goshen

Goshen Methodist Church sponsors an old fashioned tent revival from July 29 to August 10 led by William Hardy a missionary evangelist from St Helens England. The Clermont County Farmers Annual Picnic is August 2 at Owensville Fair Grounds from 10 30 am to 3 30 pm with music by Williamsburg High School Band and a talk by Walter Black former Clinton County Agent now secretary of the Ohio Council of Cooperatives on Let’s Get Acquainted.

Republican Women Picnic Draws County Leaders in Point Pleasant

Clermont County Republican Women held a Saturday picnic in Point Pleasant with Ralph Wolfe, Nellie Mattox, Clara Kimball, and Albert Richmond among the leaders pictured. Attendees included Gladys Gordon, Helen Dean, John Martin, Joe Campbell, Tom Pierson, Bruce Daughters. A joint meeting with the Republican Veterans' Club is set for August 18 in Burke Park Bethel with Congressman Edward O. McCowen as speaker.
