Held for Robbery in Batavia Jail
Howard Monk Seibert, 22, is jailed in Batavia on an affidavit by John T. Binkley charging robbery. The Feb robbery behind Danberry's Café left Binkley battered and $7 taken. Seibert volunteered after learning of the charge, claiming he can prove he was not in Batavia at the time. Arraignment tentatively set for Tuesday night.

Sheriff named defendant in two new damage suits
Two new civil actions were filed in Common Pleas Court against Sheriff Garland G. Auxier and county commissioners stemming from a March 26 automobile crash on Rt 74 near Owensville. Deputy Davis drove the sheriff’s car into a Nash driven by James Binkley, causing $110 in damages to the car and injuries to Mrs. Binkley.

Fifty More Aid for the Aged Cases Added in Clermont County
W. McCaw announced that Ohio General Assembly funding increases have added 50 new Aid for the Aged recipients in Clermont County effective with July payments bringing the county total to 1,069 from 1,024 in June. July payments total 22,315.97 versus 21,426.87 in June, with an average award of 20.88. He expects more August approvals and notes over 5,000 new July cases statewide, with about 128,000 aged on rolls by month’s end and nearly 35 million paid this year, half from state funds and half from the federal government.

Bethel Boy Drowns After Boat Capsizes Below Dam
Fourteen year old Jack Van Winkle of Bethel is believed drowned when a boat capsized in the Ohio River below Dam 85 at New Richmond early Saturday. Floyd Craycraft, sixteen, escaped with minor injuries after the craft overturned. Craycraft was rescued by Cincinnati campers. Van Winkle’s body remained unfound.

Bethel Woman Bound Over in Stabbing Case
Beulah Quinlan of Bethel was bound over to the Grand Jury Monday night in Ralph Parker's court under a $500 bond in connection with the July 4 stabbing of Myrtle Moore at a Twin Bridges area dance hall. A bloodstained knife and worn coat with knife cuts were shown at the hearing as evidence. Moore was treated for a four inch abdominal wound and was recovering.
