Walter Smith reports Clermont County Farm Bureau directors unanimously oppose Ohio constitutional amendment to redraw state legislative districts. Petitions need 241,287 signatures across 44 counties, with at least 5 percent of gubernatorial votes per county, plus 732 in Clermont. Residents urged to vote against should it appear. After six months of tight economies county government reports a net balance of 4.97 dollars in the general fund for fiscal year 1940. Appropriations total $85,224.04 and receipts $85,229.01 for the period ending June 30. Second half appropriations expected about $20,000 less.

Daniel Maham of Newtonsville died Monday night at Christ hospital at age 65. He retired 11 years ago. Burial will be Wednesday at 2 pm. He leaves a widow and one sister Mrs John Shriner of Milford.
