Districts Adopt and Recede Textbook Plans
Last week Milford Moscow Perth Town and Pt Isabel School Districts adopted the new texts while Ohio Rural and Paxton Special Districts rescinded prior adoption. The total adopters reach 18 with seven rejections and three districts undecided. Seventy five percent of pupils are in adopting districts and 80 percent would gain uniform texts if full conformity cannot be kept. at least 75 percent of pupils in the 18 districts would benefit.

Y. P. D. Camp Holds Second Rally
The Y. P. D. youth group held their second rally at the camp-site on Friday the eleventh with about eighty-five attendees from across the county. A Madeira pastor spoke as the main speaker, followed by games songs and a large campfire where bacon hot dogs and marshmallows were roasted. The entertainment offered a glimpse of authentic camp life and signals a strong 1930 camp season ahead.

Two Clermont County Murder Trials Set for September
Indicted defendants Bird Harpef Goshen and W H Boshear were arraigned in Clermont Common Pleas Court on July 6 and July 5 respectively. Both pleaded not guilty and face separate trials on September 3 and September 16. Appointments for defense and prosecution were made and a venue of 75 names was drawn. This marks the first time two first degree murder trials were scheduled in the same month in Clermont county.

Meadow Fires Threaten County Hay Crop and Water Shortages

Milford Boy Bill Boles Killed in Road Accident
Bill Boles a 17 year old East Milford newsboy died after a Round Bottom Road crash when his machine skidded on slippery larva. He rode with uncle Joseph Sullivan. the machine struck a telephone pole fracturing his skull and crushing his chest. He died hours later at Milford Hospital after ambulance transport. Sullivan suffered minor bruises.

Dugan Pleads Guilty in Neville Manslaughter Case
State of Ohio v Frank Dugan progressed in the Court of Common Pleas with Dugan changing from not guilty to guilty on June 8 stabbing Earnest Johnson at Neville after heavy drinking. Judge Charles White sentenced Dugan to 2 to 20 years in the Ohio penitentiary and the sheriff moved him to the penitentiary by 3 PM reducing costs.
