With the East Fork low and the town intake hole four inches down in 24 hours the Batavia Board of Public Affairs asks gardens and lawns to cease irrigation for now. Chaplain Abbott Ordered to Jefferson Barracks
Rev H P Abbott pastor of United Brethren Church and U S Army chaplain in the Officers Reserve Corps is assigned to two weeks active duty at Jefferson Barracks Missouri with the CMT O, continuing his duties with the Uniformed Ranks. Sunday Crash on Grant Highway injures three men
Three Amelia men Frank Ross Albert Richter and Lawrence Sillett were in a roadster on the Grant Highway Sunday when a car behind forced a quick move causing the vehicle to lunge and flip. Ross suffered a fractured skull and other injuries while Richter and Sillett escaped with scratches. Albert Richier the driver was jailed in Batavia.

Murder Trial Date Set for John Zeller in Kimball’s Ford Killing
The murder trial of John Zeller and three co defendants for the May 13 killing of 68 year old Robert Clemons seven miles north of Georgetown at Kimball’s Ford is set for August 20 in Cincinnati. Zeller, 24, is charged with first degree murder and is backed by attorney John Stroller while the state is represented by Prosecuting Attorney John H. Houston and assistant Frank X. Frebis. The four day Loveland Carnival held by the Business Men of Loveland last week drew crowds from the county every evening.
