The county now has 1096 men in the armed forces with Draft Board No 1 listing 442 service members and Draft Board No 2 with 654. Census data show Clermont County's 1940 population rose 14.5 percent since 1930, and officials project larger wartime mobilization ahead.

With scarce young skilled labor, he urges drawing from unemployed, women, minorities, older workers, and those with disabilities to meet war material production goals. Training covers machine shop and airplane engine courses with around the clock instruction and free training equipment. Aiming to train 3500 in summer.
According to Alexander Reid of Bethel, chairman of the Scrap Rubber Drive in Clermont county, 275 385 pounds were collected by County and State Highway trucks from service stations and garages in Clermont. The total exceeds that of most counties in the area and a further drive is believed possible.

Arthur Stevens says Ivan McKellip Ohio State extension dairy specialist will be guest speaker to help members analyze their records and view the Tytus herd which last year averaged 437 lbs of butterfat.
