Local draft boards report rising service numbers with 1150 to 1200 Clermont county men now in the military. About 1100 of the more than 2000 called up have enlisted or were accepted by Fort Thomas, with 249 from Board No 1 and 386 registrants from Board No 2 already in service.
Norfolk and Western Railway cancels all 1942 annual meetings of employees and officials due to wartime demands for passenger equipment. The Better Service Conference and regional societies are halted, with July to September meetings also discontinued. The move follows an Association of American Railroads resolution to curb non essential convention travel and avoid special trains.
Mr. Emmett Creager of Clermont County sold five cattle at Cincinnati Union Stock Yards. The 800 lb dry fed heifers and steers were bred to medium quality stock and brought 12 dollars apiece.

Morristown salesman E W Trobaugh was robbed on Route 222 near Clermont infirmary. Three unknown women aided him after he was bound and pistol threatened. T J Conner announced a general extension to September 29 1942 to file capital stock tax returns for the year ended June 30 1942. Without the extension the returns would have been due July 31 1942.
