Woman Hurt in Auto Accident Near Keen Coal Yard
Mrs. Wm. Nichols residing on the Hoyt Alrey farm west of town was struck by an auto near Keen Coal Yard Friday night on her way home. The driver was Wm. Gunther of Sardinia who stopped after the collision. She suffered severe bruises but no broken bones and was taken to Dr. Ashburn for X rays. Dr. Van Horn was summoned.

Little Tommy Nichols, son of H. Nichols, was scared but not seriously hurt after he ran into his father's auto on a Sunday. Examination showed only a scare and minor injuries.

Former Batavian Mary Grant Dies in Kansas
Miss Mary Grant daughter of the late John Grant died in Hutchinson Kansas on Monday. Services at Batavia at 10 o clock Thursday morning July 16 with her brother John Grant accompanying the remains. She was a former Batavian.

Counterfeit 25 and 60 Cent Coins Circulate in Counties

Willing Workers Food Club of Owensville met July 1 with 27 present. Doris Utter presided, and members discussed future outings. Mary Ellen Evans and Doris Fetter hosted tea. Anna Inderrieden and Rosemary Davis demonstrated salmon salad. refreshments served by Jean Genet, Marian Levitas and Kathleen Leach. Adjourned to July 16 at the school building. Williamsburg Stock and Garden 4-H met July 7 at the Juvenile Grange hall with 15 members. after business, refreshments were served and the group adjourned to meet at BR. O. Rose's on July 1.

Will Norris Dies After Sudden Heart Attack
Will Norris 56 farmer living between Salt Air and Nicholsville died Tuesday July 5 at 1 00 p m after a severe heart attack in the barn while preparing a team for field work. He had suffered influenza last winter and recovered but his heart was believed weakened. Norris was a two term Monroe Township trustee and a Monroe Grange member.

Texaco Station Owner Survives Freak Car Mishap
Jack Parsons proprietor of a Texaco station two miles east of Bethel escaped injury after a 1932 Oldsmobile rolled over on a clay bank following a skid on the Ohio Pike. He climbed out through a skylight, flagged a passing car, and reached Bethal for help. Parsons quipped it was the greatest accident in twenty five years of driving.
