Two Hurt In Route 125 Crash That Killed Horses
On Route 125 near Bantam and Bethel last Thursday night a car collided with a team of horses, killing both animals and injuring four passengers. James Iles, Margaret Kinner, William Curtis, and Tommy Tolin were in the car. Tolin drove, Bethel Iles owned the vehicle. Sheriff Brooks and Deputy Abbott cleared the scene. Tolin was fined $200 and costs for reckless driving. Ernest Fancher received $325 for horse losses.

Fire destroys station and freight house of local railroad
An 11:30 p.m. fire last Thursday damaged the C P and W line station and freight house. Fire was blamed on careless lights used by house burglars. With limited water and no other property endangered, efforts to save the building ceased as it burned late. A box car now serves as a station while plans for a brick, fireproof replacement with a night watchman are urged.

Mr and Mrs Daniel Wilkerson of Pt Pleasant were notified Tuesday that their son Corp Roy W Wilkerson was killed in action February 19 over Marburg Yugoslavia. He was waist gunner on a B 24 and had previously been listed as missing. He has two brothers in service, Pfc Earl J Wilkerson in Germany with the Ninth Army and T 5 Fred D Wilkerson in France with the Medical Corps.
