County and State Officials Strike Budget Compromise in Columbus
After talks in Columbus Deputy County Auditor Earle Kincaid and Ralph Majcew of the Auditor’s office announced a compromise on Clermont county’s welfare debt. The immediate $804.76 withheld for state claims remains credited to the county, while future assessments will require county approval and adjustments for invalid bills. The old debt totaling $88,381.60 as of July 1 1939 is to be serviced with reduced monthly payments, dropping from $452 to $338.81 starting August 1, contingent on red tape clearance.
