Deputies Kain Henderson and Richard jailed four youths from Pikeville KY for possessing five revolvers after a westbound freight entry. They confessed to burglary at a Pikeville armory and planned to rob Rapps store and the bank. The Pikeville sheriff retrieved them Tuesday night.

Portsmouth murder shocks town as wife kills husband
William Jackson a 38 year old ice company worker was fatally stabbed at his home in Portsmouth on July 8 by his wife after a dispute over five dollars. A stranger named Watkins appeared during the confrontation. The coroner ordered the wife held on murder charges while three others were named as witnesses. Albert Jackson reported learning of the trouble via a local newspaper account.

Eighteen new Farm Bureau contracts and thirty five livestock contracts were secured in Franklin township last week. M. H. McNeill and J. P. Hughes solicited four days. Now about 65 Farm Bureau members hold roughly 50 live stock contracts in the township as 87 cars of livestock have signed in Clermont county. The movement aims to launch a Cooperative Livestock Marketing Association with Clermont county possibly the first in southwestern Ohio ready to go. County Agent Clyde F. Tom notes two solicitors were tested to compare meeting versus personal signing strategies and will continue until setup.
