Batavia Liquor Court Meets Passes Two Ordinances
Batavia Council on July 7 approved ordinances to prosecute liquor law violations and to appoint two deputy marshals, with C. M. Long named as one. No attorney will be needed where trials are unnecessary to save costs. The Milford court is targeting home brew makers and F. E. Buckle was fined 100 for possessing six bottles. Pioneer Wallace dies after long life of faith and family
Nicholas B Wallace of Brown County Ohio born June 26 1848 near New Hope lived 76 years. He married Martha Brown in 1864 and raised ten children eight daughters two sons with 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A Bloom Rose United Brethren member for 38 years he endured illness with faith. Funeral July 8 1924 at Greenberry M B H Church, burial Greenberry cemetery.

Bootlegger Caught Near Bantam in White Mule Case
F O Davis of Vinegar Hill near Bantam was arrested for possession and manufacture of white mule. Sheriff Rapp and deputies recovered a well equipped still one mile from the pike, plus 25 gallons of whiskey. Davis paid a $700 fine and costs after appearing before Mayor Larkin and remained in jail until paid.

The Ohio Jersey Cattle Club held a sale of pure bred Jersey cattle at the Ohio State Fair Grounds with 84 animals sold and an average price of 156 dollars per head. Camden Terrace Farms Milford donated the top heifer which brought 825 dollars, followed by 670 dollars donated by Hugh Bonnell, Ohio Jersey Club president.
