Fourth of July Held In Batavia With Parade And Tablet
Batavia observed Independence Day with ideal weather and a large crowd. The 1:30 parade led by the Batavia Band marched through Main Street to the courthouse yard where Captain Frank White presided. Captain Morrow spoke and unveiled a bronze tablet listing Batavia township’s soldiers, presented by Charles Miller, who shared overseas experiences. James Patchell closed the program with remarks and praise for Charles Miller.

Brother Shoots Brother on Ohio River Farm

Amateur burglars target Fuhr hardware store in Williamsburg
Two youths Joseph Snider 19 and Howard Julian 17 both Hamilton county residents confessed to breaking into John C Fuhr’s hardware store on a Wednesday night. They entered through a window took rifles cartridges knives flashlights and trinkets. Bloodhounds trailed them until they were found and arrested. Snider bound over to the grand jury on 1000 bond Julian sent to juvenile court. The December visit yielded no loot. Also notes Miss Alice Dial a Hamilton county teacher on chautauqua in Texas and Prof Eugene Dial touring Michigan with bands.
