Clermont men jailed for illegal whiskey possession
Two Clermont County residents Howard Henderson of Batavia and Charles Minnie of Williamsburg received 30 day jail sentences from Judge Chas. G. White after pleading guilty to illegal possession of whiskey. Each man was fined 200 dollars plus costs, suspended by the court.

Chillicothe Man Held on Burglary Charge
Val Benedict age 32 of Chillicothe was bound over to the Clermont County grand jury on a burglary of an inhabited dwelling charge after pleading guilty. He was arrested Saturday evening by Sheriff G G Auxier less than two hours after entering the home of J M Van Landingham on the Milford Loveland Road and stealing about $10 along with jewelry and clothing. Benedict admitted the crime and returned the loot. He was awaiting a bus to Chillicothe when arrested. Entry was gained through an outside cellar and a panel cut from a door leading to the upstairs.

Sixteen year old Delbert Bradford of Georgetown Ohio is jailed in Clermont County on charges tied to the death of Benjamin Vandament known as Uncle Benny. Bradford admits driving the auto that struck Vandament on Route 125 near Bethel. He faces a juvenile delinquency hearing and a report violation before Probate Judge Orville Haibisch. Vandament, a former state representative born Sept 30 1854, was walking early Thursday when struck and killed. He leaves a daughter Ethel Vandament and two sons Harley and Orin.

Elizabeth Day McGarvey 75 of Milford died last Tuesday at Deaconess hospital Cincinnati. Funeral services were held Friday at Milford M E church with burial in Greenlawn cemetery. She was sister of former postmaster Harry Day of New Richmond and member of New Richmond’s first high school class. Surviving brothers and sisters include Harry Day Charles Day Dr Fred Day Paul Day Nellie Housh and Mrs Katie Gibson. She leaves son Clarence of Cincinnati and daughter Helen Beckett.
