Changes Loom For Clermont Jobs Program Reads

New wing may be built for Clermont welfare complex

Clermont County aims for a federal grant to add a welfare department wing to the new medical and social services complex on Bauer Road. Planning director Buckley sent a full grant package to Washington on June 27 for the $100 million EDA program, with a July 1 deadline and a Sept. 15 grant decision target.

Clermont College Fight Over $4.25 Million Funds

State Sen H Cooper Snyder and Rep Sue Fisher say the Controlling Board misordered priorities by reallocating 4.25 million dollars intended for Clermont College Batavia campus to UC. Clermont seeks use of the funds to build a classroom and renovate Sander Hall, a 28 story dorm unused after a fire.

Adoption program offers free pets physical exams in Clermont County

The Clermont County Humane Society and area veterinarians implement a new adoption rule effective July 1 at the Clermont County animal shelter. Newly adopted pets will receive a free physical exam within five days, with a family of five earning coverage via an annual vet plan and low income families aided by the society’s spay and neuter fund. The program aims to educate owners on immunizations, care, and leash laws while highlighting broader animal health and population concerns in the region.
