Bible Names on Clermont Area Place Names
An examination of Clermont county place names shows many biblical inspirations. Goshen, Shiloh, Mount Moriah, Pisgah, Mount Olive, Mount Carmel, and Nineveh reflect settlers’ Old Testament reading. Early churches used biblical names, Ebenezer varied in spelling, while New Testament names gain use today. Author: Harry Halbisch.
