Speeding Cyclist Dies In Accident

Robert S. Blankenship 28 died instantly when his motorcycle left U.S. 52 west of Ohio 232. He was thrown about 20 feet, struck a sign post, a tree and a wall, and died of internal injuries. He was a construction worker. address listed as general delivery. State Patrol noted no hands on handlebars and excessive speed. The report follows a broader page with unrelated community items.

Money For Dam Awaits Ihe's OK

An $857 million public works bill passed Congress and sits with President Eisenhower. Barnam Foley a 16 year old son of Mr and Mrs R H Foley of near Amelia sustained second and third degree burns when chemicals in his basement laboratory exploded He was taken to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Mariemont by Summer Powers ambulance His sight is not expected to be impaired and he will likely remain about ten days He is a senior at Anderson Hills High School and has long been a chemistry enthusiast Little damage beyond plaster occurred at the home

Four injured in Sunday two car crash at Rt. 132 and Mt. Pisgah Rd. Dorothy Maloney and her two children treated and released. GOP picnic set for Thursday July 12 at Walter Beckford Park with C. Grange to Host July Roast at Mrs Clara Jordan Home

The Grange plans a wiener and marshmallow roast in the picnic area of Mrs. Clara Jordan's home Friday evening July 6. In New Richmon d Leo Hurst and Harley Neftzer were appointed to the police force with Hurst as acting patrolman and Neftzer as day dispatcher starting July 14, replacing Doris Harman who resigns. The Lin dale Baptist Church suffered a partial collapse on Sunday around 4 p.m. causing fear as the 100th anniversary church building program faced excavation near the foundation. Rev. David Dean reported over 200 attendees at morning services.

Miss Bennett Wins Grange Regional Talent Contest

Darla Bennett daughter of Mr and Mrs Ray Bennett of Half Acre Road won first place at the Ohio State Grange regional talent contest at Sli go last week She gave a reading and will compete in the state finals during the State Fair Sherry Shelton daughter of Mrs Ruth Shelton won second place in the instrumental contest.

Huling Recovering After Surgery in Cincinnati

George E. Huling an assistant manager at Shillito's TV store in Cincinnati is recovering after surgery last Thursday. He has been in Christ Hospital three weeks and shows satisfactory improvement. Sheriff Clyde Dericks stated Mrs Mathie Nickloes was wounded by a mistaken accidental discharge at 180 East Ohio Pike on a Good Samaritan Hospital patient in poor condition.
