County Roads to Be Improved in Clermont County
Preliminary arrangements have been made to improve several Clermont County roads. The County Engineer will provide estimates for stone on Stumpy Lane in Goshen Township and Sharp's Cutoff in Williamsborough and Jackson Townships. Asphalt purchases will fund Jackson Pike, Stone Lick and Jackson Townships, Newtonsville-Hutchinson Road, Stonelick and Wayne Townships, and Starling Road in Tate Township. Additional improvements target Taylor and Elklick Aston Roads. In Cincinnati, a son was born Saturday evening at Christ Hospital to Mr and Mrs Jerald B Fortney of Batavia. The baby weighed 7 pounds 14 1/2 ounces, born at 9:47 PM, with Dr F S Skeen in attendance.

Mr and Mrs Helmutt Born will mark fifty years of marriage with an open house at their Summerside area home Sunday from 2 to 6 pm. They wed in Carthage Ohio on July 7 1897. Born a baker in youth he later moved for health and raised eight daughters on the farm. The couple now retired with most children living nearby including Mrs Dale in Mt Carmel and Mrs Earl Nash in Cincinnati. The Clermont Courier office will be closed Friday July 4 and open Saturday.

Four Life Saving Outfits Planned for Clermont County
County Commissioners will buy four resuscitation outfits including inhalator and aspirator units to aid in heat and drowning rescues. Each unit costs about 500 dollars and will be housed in Batavia Milford Felicity and New Richmond with training provided by a manufacturer.
