Clermont County Grand Jury Returns 19 Indictments
The Clermont County Grand Jury issued 19 indictments against 14 defendants and urged sheriff’s vehicle replacement and more police funding. It also urged reporting liquor law violations to minors. Indictments include Gary Gabbard and Vincent Abrams for two breaking and entering cases in Loveland and Williams Corner. James Keith Bentley faces three counts for breaking into Andy's Bamboo Room, a Service Station on Rt. 52, and Uncle Vernon’s Carry Out. Other defendants: Robert Massey rape. Bernard Adams and Thornton Loudermilk for insufficient funds checks. George Denny, Foster Gilliam, and Trimble Gilliam for bad checks. Leroy Smith for receiving stolen property. Juanita Brooks for larceny by trick. Arthur Anter for auto larceny. Forester Maynes, Benjamin Compton, and Ronnie Hazelbaker for malicious destruction of property.

Boles Home Burns Near Batavia in Early Monday Fire
A fire in the Allen Boles Jr. family home on Rt. 222 south of Batavia destroyed furnishings and gutted the eight year old brick house. Damage was estimated at 15000 dollars. The family escaped through a window as Batavia firefighters battled limited water supply from a cistern.

Three shoplifters detained at Milford Shopping Center at 8 45 p m Monday by Milford Police. They are Robert Foster 24 of 3434 Burnett Ave William W Bigson 28 of 642 Prospect Place and Harold J O Neal 28 of 3419 Harvey Ave Cincinnati. In their possession were merchandise valued at 184 dollars. They are in Clermont County jail charged with receiving stolen property and suspicion. All have long criminal records.
