Board Hears More On Case and Plans Merit Inspection

Clermont County health officials again review William Morris's record as the Board of Health considers merit-based status in three months. Attorney Chris Rosenhoffer accuses department staff of trying to discredit Morris while others claim his work was occasionally scrutinized. The meeting adopted an emergency meat inspection regulation and set conditions for access to health records including signed requests.

Public Hearing Set On Rt. 52 Proposal

A February 6 hearing will address relocation and abandonment of parts of US 52 and 52B in Clermont and Hamilton counties. Details include rescission of sections, staging for relocation, and revert of a US 52 segment to city control. Union and Pierce townships in Clermont are also involved. Frank W. Cann Sets Cap For County Commission

Stanley F. Cann 48 of Williamsville seeks the Democratic nomination for Clermont County commissioner. A trustee and longtime official in county education and township government, he lists active roles with the Clermont County Board of Education Union Township trustees and clerks association and local park and civic groups. Cann highlights road resurfacing, new equipment, road marking, a tonnage and gallonage payment plan, and two township constables added during the holidays as notable accomplishments. He is married to Evelyn, with two daughters, and he belongs to several fraternal and military organizations.

Early consideration planned for Route 125 and Route 50 projects

HAMFT plans to move Route 125 from Hamlet to Bethel into construction if the May bond issue passes. Route 50 from Columbia and east Parkway extension near Mariemont would also receive early review. Governor Rhodes announced highway program updates contingent on bond approval, with no tax increase. Proceedings followed a Columbus conference with editors from regional papers.

Ohio Real Estate Board President To Visit County

Lowell Douce president of the Ohio Association of Real Estate Boards will visit the Clermont Warren County Board of Realtors. He will address the group at the February 6 meeting at 6 30 p m at the Hilltop House Milford. Jerry Crain will preside.

Second Sewer Grant Now Confirmed Judge To Speak At Rally

Clermont County commissioners formally accepted a federal grant of 1 263000 for the sewer collection part of a 3 102000 sanitary system in Union township and confirmed another 311000 grant for two sewage disposal plants and a lab. The action came after discussions with Prosecutor Ralph A Hill and Barbeau Construction Management. A plan under the Accelerated Public Works Act requires projects to start within 120 days of approval and be 80 percent complete within a year.

Knothole Group Plans Umpire Class For 1964 Season

The Clermont County Knot Hole Baseball organization held its first meeting of the year and outlined plans for the 1964 season. Officers include President Alva Thompson and Secretary Lon Kaiser. An umpire school is planned in March and early April, with invites extended to managers and umpires.

County Chapter For Goldwater Seeks Members

GLEN ESTE The Clermont County chapter of Ohioans for Goldwater was organized at Kenneth R. Ogle's home. The group will use 4289 Wyebold Lane as its address and aims to mobilize support for Senator Barry Goldwater for President in 1964. Ogle, membership chairman, hopes the grass roots, nonpartisan group will influence Ohio’s delegation at the National Republican Convention. Those interested may contact Ogle at 752-1590.

Fire victims in Kentucky area. two boys burn

A 12 year old boy remains critical at Children’s Hospital after a kite contact with a high voltage line near Glen Este Williamsville road. Eight year old David Hicks died at General Hospital from second and third degree burns. Linda Beard, 13, aided victims and helped extinguish the grass fire. Cremation and funeral plans followed for David Hicks with Mass at St Veronica Church.

West Clermont Seeks 600000 State Aid for Schools

West Clermont school officials asked on Tuesday for a 600000 grant from the State Department of Education to supplement a 2077000 bond issue for construction of 93 additional classrooms. The money would come from the 250 million bond issue approved in the state on November 9.
