By Melba Burch Ohio 4-H Assistant describes Junior Leaders aged 14 to 19 as seasoned members who mentor younger 4-Hers, plan club programs, and serve county and state roles. Activities include toy repairs for holiday gifts, fair clean-up, camp counseling, dances, and peer leadership workshops.
Older youth fourteen and up can pursue state and area 4-H programs such as Ohio Club Congress and State Leadership Camp. Julie Young of Easy Riders 4-H Club and Tina Mager of Big Green Machine joined events like the Bob Evans 4-H Competitive Trail Ride, sharing lessons on horse care, conditioning, and scoring.
