The February Clermont meeting invites all interested in Bibles and family history to view the project. The reading room of the library opens at 7 with a board meeting at 6 30 p.m. All are welcome, members or not.
Congressman Bob McEwen plans a district mobile office stop at the corner of SR 28 and SR 32 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and in Milford from 1 to 5 p.m. In Goshen the event invites residents to discuss federal agency concerns and bring correspondence with social security or veteran issue numbers. Mickey Kreiger, district representative, will be present. McEwen may join if available.
The Clermont County Women’s GOP Club meets at 11 30 a m Wednesday February 11 at the Oaktree Restaurant in Withamsville. Ohio School Board member Grace Christy of Milford will speak. Club president is Pat Dell era and Marcia Pace serves as chair. Luncheons are held the second Wednesday.
New Richmond residents may register children for knothole baseball at the American Legion Hall on February 7 and 14 from 10 to 1. The fee is 12 dollars per child.
First Church of Jesus Christ on Cook Road and Guinea Pike in Goshen announces a Sing In featuring the Solid Rocks choir on Saturday February 7 at 7 p.m. The event invites community participation and highlights a musical program at the Goshen church location.
Clermont Community Church of the Nazarene at 4650 SR 182 offers revival Feb 10 to 15 daily at 7 p.m. except Sunday with 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. services. Evangelist Don Ballard of Memphis Tennessee leads, with special singing by Red and Monroe Turner formerly of Mid-Western. Pastor Terry Kidd extends invitation.
Girl Scouts of Clermont County accept cookie orders through February 13 with deliveries set between March 23 and April 13. Available favorites include Trefoils Do-si-dos Samoa Vanilla Sandwich Cremes Granolas Chocolate Mints and two peanut butter varieties priced at 1.50 per box. Proceeds fund services for over 27,300 local council members and camping programs supported by United Appeal and Community Chest.
Officials report EPA funds allocated for a municipal sewer plan. U.S. Rep. Bob McEwen and local leaders review a Feasibility study by Balke Engineers of Cincinnati, begun in July 1978, for a project spanning East Fork Lake area near Wan' H. Harshe Lake with Bethel officials present.
Flannery announced Monday the formation of H.F., Inc., a holding company to manage his personal holdings and domestic investments through a new corporate structure. The move follows earlier decisions to centralize ownership and streamline asset management under the Flannery umbrella.
Developer Rick Ashbrook proposes a new Batavia restaurant and arcade shops estimated at 0.5 million dollars for 226 Main Street. The existing building, already 70 percent usable, will be leased for the new space along with a small insurance company as tenant.
Former county official Bissantz pleads not guilty after arraignment. He is held on a $1000 personal recognizance bond and faces a Feb. 9 pre-trial hearing. The indictment alleges he solicited in exchange for votes on a salary increase for county officials. Contd on page 2.
A U S Marshal sale set for February 19 on the Clermont County Courthouse steps will dispose of the Mt. Carmel Wescott Square complex. Once planned by Elmer Goldman, the 20 acre site with 190 units was halted in 1974 after financial trouble, HUD has managed since 1976, FHA financing, 17 units leased, full project value and completion plans to be determined.
Clermont County Animal Shelter reports a new head addressing a dog attack aftermath at Bethesda North Hospital where Mrs. Carmell received extensive facial and arm surgery. The 1980 shelter census records 7219 animals, with 5384 claimed, four escaped, and 48 dead on arrival. Wardens conducted 5571 runs, issuing 1317 tons, with 208 cruelty cases and 178 animals reported.
Mt Carmel merchants plan to attend the Feb 10 trustees meeting of Union Township to protest advertising sign rules. The group aims to voice concerns over the new ordinance impacting local business signs and display regulations.
