Batavia school accepts a scarce limited edition book from the Legion for its library despite space limits. Dental Society Formed In Area

Adams Brown and Clermont counties form the ABC Dental Society a regional study group for advances in dentistry. Meetings set for the first Wednesday monthly at the First National Bank Building Sardina. Officers include Dr. Julian P. Holbrook president and Dr. Roy L. Bohl secretary treasurer. Members span Williamsburg Loveland Batavia Georgetown and more with ties to state and national dental groups.

No Hurry In Condemning Old Building

West Clermont board of education learned a state fire marshal saw no urgency to condemn the Amelia elementary building. Inspectors from BMOP Fire Department urged action. a full report will be shared. Bax ter and Associates hired to survey the old building for repair or remodel as part of a $2 million new school program. A $565,000 bond election on March 1 may fund future classrooms and fireproofing.

PUCO Approves Loveland Phone Improvement Plan

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approves extended area service for the Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Telephone Company in the Loveland Normandy exchange. Officials launched a customer survey aimed at 60 to 80 percent support to extend toll free calling to Normandy and surrounding areas, potentially serving about 494000 phones toll free. More than 400 residents attended the Loveland Civic Association meeting where plans and rates were discussed.

Census May Boost County Salaries If Population Rises

A potential federal census count in Clermont County could trigger pay increases for county officials if the population reaches 80 000. Proposed raises cover commissioners to 5750, probate judge to 14000, coroner to 3300, engineer to 8800, recorder to 6800, sheriff to 6800, prosecutor to 7250, treasurer to 7950, and clerk of courts to 8200. If the count exceeds 80 000, boosts may be larger. the chamber estimates 75 627 residents.

State X-Ray Unit To Visit Clermont Communities

The State Health mobile chest X-ray unit will tour Clermont County February 9 to 19 offering free X-rays to residents 18 and older. Sessions run 3 to 9 p.m. in nine communities with door prizes in some towns to boost turnout.
