MacKeever, Williamsburg Former Mayor and JP, Dies

John MacKeever, colorful former mayor and justice of the peace, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday at his home. A Democrat precinct committeeman who ran for county district judge, he belonged to a local pioneer family. Survived by widow Pearl and three brothers Walter Williamsburg Harvey and Harry. County To Study Rt 125 Drainage

County commissioners will study drainage problems on Route 125 at Williamsville on recommendation from Ben Stokes, state highway department maintenance engineer. A hearing is set for Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. at the courthouse as residents seek relief from ditch overflow after heavy rains. The state cannot pay more than its proportionate share, and one resident has threatened to sue.

Phone Company Official Marks 40th Anniversary

P. Johnston of The Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Telephone Co. observes his 40th service anniversary this month. He began in the plant department, rose to district plant superintendent, spent a year at AT&T in New York, and was later promoted to plant supervisor, general plant manager, and vice president of personnel and public relations before becoming an executive and director in 1955. He and his wife run Point of View Farm near Perintown off U S Route 50.

Batavia Development Unit elects directors for 1960

The Batavia Development Corporation elected seven directors for 1960 led by Howard Wilson Brice Hendrixson Harold Gallagher William Parsons William Auxier Paul Blocher and Robert Ayer. Auxier replaces Kenneth Anstaett as a director and the group will name officers Thursday night.
