Relief Fund Aims for County Drought Aid
At a county Red Cross meeting last Friday night officials rejected a county wide splication for the 2500 dollar drought and unemployment relief quota. A reliable community receiver will be named likely the local banker to collect donations. Judge Davis said 100 county donors of 265 dollars each would raise the fund. Businesses may contribute 25 to 500 dollars. Five dollar checks arrive daily and all funds go directly to the needy with no expenses.

Williamsburg Council Approves Water Works Plans
At a regular meeting on January 19 the Water Works Williamsburg Council hired W S Heer Engineering Co of Terre Haute Indiana to draft plans and specs for a municipal water system. County Officer Hurt In Allendale Crash
County Officer Burton Hodge his wife and son and Mrs Lelia Miller and her son Maurice were driving near Allendale when a Chevrolet collided with their Chrysler. Hodge suffered a wrenched back his wife ligaments torn over kidneys. Mrs Miller was seriously injured. The boys escaped. Both cars were demolished.

Russell K. Wyatt of New Richmond died at Bethesda Hospital Saturday at 4 PM in his 48th year. He was a tobacco buyer for American Tobacco Co. in Maysville and formerly for R. J. Reynolds, P. Lollard, and E. J. O'Brien Co. He owned land, served as vice president of Cincinnati Ware House Co., and was a bank director in Ripley. Active in multiple lodges, he leaves his mother, father, and five sisters. Burial was in Mt. Pisgah family lot. His death shocked the community.

Poets Union Meets With Lively Reading Program
Mrs Merle Markley hosted the Poets Union for Brown and Clermont counties on a crisp January day. Readers included Stephen Alice from New Richmond and Edith H South reciting her father Charles Harrison's poem. The event featured music by Louise Lantanner and Brice Hendrixson, closing with Dr Frank Hartman and an invitation to spring meeting at Mrs Earl Cranston's Pontae n home.
