Death of George Carter Brother of Batavia Tinner
Word reached Batavia on Saturday of the death of George Carter a railroad man with the Pennsylvania Railroad and son of William Carter. He died in Cincinnati leaving a widow and children. His remains were brought home Monday and buried in Union cemetery. He spent the early part of his life in Batavia and is remembered by many who sympathize with the family.

Colored Citizen William H. Carter Dies in Batavia
William H. Carter, a longtime Batavia resident and former employee of the G. & P. railroad, died at his home after a lengthy illness. He retired December 1 due to ill health and declined steadily. He leaves a son and several daughters. The funeral was held at the colored M. B. church and he was buried in Union cemetery. His friendly presence was widely noticed on the streets.
