4-H Council seeks funds for Clarksville pool project
Clermont County 4 H Council led by Herbert LaForge coordinates a county wide drive to raise 7500 dollars for a 35 by 75 foot swimming pool at the 4 H camp near Clarksville. Montgomery Warren Hamilton and Clermont counties share the effort with 800 campers last summer fueling support. Solicitation starts Feb 11 with 10000 pledge cards and township chairman drives to cover the county.

North Union Fire Group elects chief and buys land
The North Union Township Volunteer Fire Department elected Ray Riggs as chief and Russ Epeards as assistant chief at its January meeting. The group has begun zoning and long term planning for a fire house site, purchasing about seven-eighths of an acre from Joseph Plum on Route 74 in Summerside, with options for future expansion. A zoning plan costing about 4500 dollars is to be prepared, with a May primary election unlikely for completion.
