The South western Ohio Press club opened its second year with Charles Sharp of the New Democrat at Georgetown elected president. State To Survey US 52 Proposal

Lakeside Christian Service Camp Names Publicity Director for 1956

Rev Ralph S Carter of Milford Church of Christ appointed publicity director for Lakeside Christian Service Camp near Mount Holly. Three camp periods run Junior week June 24 30 intermediate week July 1 7 and senior week July 8 14. facilities include offices dining, quarters bunk house and athletic courts with limited lake boating and no swimming.

Students Start Subscription Drive At Amelia School

The three sixth grades at Amelia school begin their annual campaign to sell subscriptions to The Clermont Courier and Amelia Star-Review to fund a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo. Principal Stanley Ansteatt supervises with assistance from teacher aides John Slye and Louis Waggal. The classes have visited the zoo for 23 consecutive years.

Final Date Set for 1955 Wheat and Soybean Loans and Purchases

The final date to obtain 1955 wheat and soybean loans and purchase agreements is set for January 1. Producers intending to place a loan or purchase agreement on their 1955 crop must note this date. Richard Winder of Clermont County on Stabilization and Conservation Committee issued the statement today.

Mrs Fitzpatrick Named Ohio Delegate to Vet Convention

Dr and Mrs J C Fitzpatrick of Amelia returned from Columbus where Mrs Fitzpatrick was appointed Ohio delegate to the Ladies Auxiliary of the National American Veterinarian's Association. The group will meet in San Antonio Texas in October.

Clermont Receives Stopgap Polio Funds From March of Dimes

Clermont Chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis reports a 2650 check from March of Dimes headquarters in New York to meet acute polio care needs. Chairwoman Mrs Margaret Abbott notes it is a second advance as many chapters exhaust March of Dimes funds. She says polio respects no borders and chapters with surpluses help those operating in the red to assure patient care.

Girl Hurt Crossing Road in New Richmond Crash

Patricia Brabant fourteen, of Route 1 New Richmond, hospitalized in Bethesda with brain concussion severe forehead lacerations right arm fracture and right knee injury after being hit by a westbound car driven by Fred W Bennett of Moscow on U S 52 near 10 Road Witnesses said the car traveled about 30 mph and Bennett was not cited Howard Neal who had just discharged Brabant from his school bus and drove about 300 feet west did not realize the accident until after it occurred State Patrol and Pierce township constable Elbert Dittman investigated

JP Districts Set Up and Commission Names Officers

The Commission on Justice met at the Clermont County courthouse to organize and designate districts for justices of the peace. Judge Harry Britton was elected chairman with Judge Orville Halbish as secretary and Commissioner Charles B. Clark as third member. The group planned April meetings and salary discussions to move JPs from fees to salaries. Pride Purchases Insurance Firm Pride Becomes Bethel Owner

Pride Bauer, former Bethel mayor, buys Gray Insurance Agency of Bethel from William Gray. He has lived in Bethel since 1927, is married with three sons Denham Blair Lloyd, and resides at 343 North Charity Street. Pride served two terms as mayor in 1939 and 1941 and held other local offices.

Board Forms Interim Committee for Amelia Glen Este Merger

Clermont County Board of Education met January 12 and declined to create a full merger board for the Amelia, Glen Este Mt Carmel and Williamsville Tabasco districts. An interim committee was appointed to study issues and prepare for a consolidated board once court litigation over consolidation is resolved. Members include Floyd Rath Eugene Honaker Ray McCullough Eric Carlson and Richard Rosenfeld.
