More than six million dollars was distributed today by the Burley Tobacco Growers Co operative Association across Kentucky Ohio Indiana West Virginia Tennessee Missouri and Virginia as a second payment on the 1925 crop. The payout followed 125000 checks and lifted total payments on the 1925 crop to 18 361 395 44 and overall since 1921 to 151 082 996 78. The average grower payment on the first five crops was 17 37 per hundred pounds from 869 361 222 pounds, with about 98 million pounds of 1923 1924 and 1925 tobacco remaining for future payments.

First Arrest Under False Registration Law in Ohio

First Degree Murder Appeals Argued in Cincinnati
The Scott Workman case for a new trial was argued Monday before the Court of Appeals by C N Young and Hugh M Davidson for the defense and Carl Z Garland and Harry Britton for the State in Cincinnati. Dog License Sales Dwindle as Penalty Looms
The report shows a drop in dog license tag sales with 1900 sold by January 20, after Clermont County counts about 8500 dogs. Flood Hits Town as Little Miami Rises
The East Fork of the Little Miami river ran full for days with limited road blockages at low spots in the pikes. No farm property or crops were destroyed.
