Farmer Killed Cutting Timber on His Farm
Joseph Hugo a 61 year old farmer near Williamsburg was killed Friday afternoon when a limb from a felled tree struck his head. He lived with his sister Katie and brother John on the farm and was noted as a prominent local farmer. Burial set for Monday at Owensville Catholic church.

In a regular session on Monday January 10 the County Commissioners transacted business approving numerous bills and repairs. Payments include Batavia Realty Co 12600 Ruth Bigam 11430 Barrett Bros 160 and others for supplies, payrolls, board children care, and road repairs. The surveyor was authorized to repair Pt Pleasant and Laurel pike not to exceed 2000.

Double Murder Near West Union Shocks Community
A man named Ralph Knauff and his father Michael Knauff were killed last Wednesday near West Union after the son threatened his wife and seven children. The father attempted to disarm him and both men died. The wife witnessed the shooting and did not see who was shot first. Ralph had prior murder trial, acquitted on self defense.
