Max Dennis Seeks Re-Election To Ohio Senate Seat

Incumbent State Senator Max H. Dennis of the 10th district announces his candidacy for re election subject to the Republican May primary. Dennis, a Wilmington attorney, began in the Ohio House in 1955 and has served in the Senate since 1963. He chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee and has supported school aid and highway safety revisions. The 10th district includes Adams Brown Clermont Clinton Fayette Highland Madison and Warren counties. A bake sale sponsored by Marathon PTA is set for Saturday January 27 in Milford Shopping Center starting at 10 a.m. Dennis is 42, married to Ethel with four children.

Farm Bureau Launches Drive in Clermont County

Forty two advisory council members and staff kicked off the 1968 Farm Bureau membership drive in Batavia. Officials highlighted tax relief plans and long term savings from phasing out tangible personal property tax. District leaders named council captains and reported strong dues remittance, with 181 members paying. 71 percent of 1967 members. Clermont Officials Award Airport Operation Contract

Clermont County Commissioners select Clermont Airways Inc to operate a new Batavia area airport. The 25 year deal guarantees $4 000 annually for five years then $6 000 per year thereafter with a 15 year renewal option. Hangars and training facilities to be built on five acres. county may buy land if training fails. Officers include Robert Parkins president with partners Tackenberg Leming Bayer and Swedes.

Clerk Extends County Court Office Hours

Clerk of Courts Mark D. Reynolds announces county court office hours extended. Deputy clerks will be on duty 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday. After hours or weekends, the sheriff's office will contact a deputy clerk as needed. He says the changes improve service without extra cost.

Carter Named Sanitary Engineer for Clermont County

Clermont County commissioners appoint Walter Carter, longtime deputy to County Engineer Carl H. Rush, as sanitary engineer to oversee operation maintenance and billing for the PUB Water System MGS and area sewers. Carter starts Feb 1 and will work from courthouse offices with a small staff. Kiwanis Club Marks Fortieth Anniversary in Milford

Kiwanis members from neighboring clubs gathered at Village Inn Milford for the fortieth anniversary. Governor Correnin spoke on the club’s record since 1928 with 35 members and Stuart Scott received a Legion of Merit and certificate as a charter member.

Louis J Schwartz Seeks County Attorney Nomination

Louis J Schwartz announces candidacy for prosecuting attorney in the Republican Primary on May 1.
