Missing Man Earl Felock Sighting Tied to River Truck
Deputies from Clermont and Hamilton counties with state patrol searched near Link Road and Loveland Madaira Road after a green Ford panel truck was pulled from the Little Miami River. No body was found. the truck belonged to volunteer fireman Earl Felock who was last seen driving it Wednesday. Continuous river searches followed a report to the sheriff’s office.

Highway crews battle flood damage across Clermont County
State and county road workers labored through the night to keep traffic moving as about 15 miles of roads were blocked by flood debris and washed berms. Three bridges on Elmwood Road Batavia Twp Rumpke Road and Benton Road were damaged and Rt 222 and U S 50 closures were reported. a body found near Branch Hill was received at the morgue but not identified. Milford Superintendent Fred Croswell praised his forces while authorities inspected Rt 126 and the Miamiville bridge approaches.

By Thursday morning 350 lines remained out at Normandy central office as crews labored all day with 25 installers, five central office men, four supervisors and cable teams trying to restore service. Water flooded phones, causing short circuits and tying up central office equipment.

Rt. 28 Relocation OK'd For 2 Miles
The Ohio Department of Highways approved a new nearly two mile limited access route on State Rt. 28 in Clermont County. The project eliminates hazardous curves and hills and will cross Rt. 132 Belfast Goshen Road and Wood Street before meeting the old highway near Gibbs Road. Construction of a two lane highway will begin soon with right of way bought for future widening. The $950000 project was approved after engineering studies and a Sept. 16 Goshen hearing.

Phone Men Rescued After Flood Trap in Building
Four Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Telephone service men were trapped overnight in the Love land Gas and Electric Company building as floodwaters rose. Rescuers pulled them to safety at 6 05 p.m. Thursday after they kept a single line open, warmed with electric dryers, and kept entertained by a television.
