The Clermont County Genealogical Society, led by president Aileen Whitt, plans a busy 1979 with monthly meetings at Clermont County Public Library, a three night February beginner class, and a project list including a Clermont County Genealogical Guide, surname file, obituary file, and efforts to preserve old newspapers and compile county marriages from 1800 to 1840.
SSC Don Toole of Milford Army Recruiting Station announces a two year enlistment option for qualified male and female high school graduates in the Cincinnati Dayton area. It guarantees assignment to Europe and allows high school seniors to enlist pending graduation under the Delayed Entry Program. The Clermont County Diagnostic Center Inc board met on January 9 with 169 board members present. They expressed thanks to the new board for dedicating time to serve children and elected Kenneth Zuk as chairman James F. Truske as vice chairman Thomas Eisenstraut as secretary and Thomas Ruthmeyer as treasurer.
Ken Chappell a part time Clermont College student presents his first one man art show at the college from January 10 to 25 featuring bold portraits of famous people and landscapes of Clermont County in watercolor. He works in multiple media and aims to make a living through art. He has won several awards including one at age 12. He is a draftsman trainee in Senco’s Industrial Engineering Department. exhibition hours vary by day and are free to the public during college hours. The Hamilton County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society meets January 27 at 1 30 p.m. at Ninth Street Baptist Church with Mrs Audrey Gilbert as speaker.
At a December 4 BancOhio National Bank of Loveland meeting the board promoted James S Saunders to vice president and Timothy J Costello to assistant cashier, with Steven C Veno named staff officer. Saunders joined BancOhio in June 1975 and has held multiple roles including branch administrator for the bank. Costello began at BancOhio in December 1972 and advanced through the branch system to manager of the Mt Carmel office. Veno joined from Hillsdale College in September and now oversees personnel and marketing, with his family listed at Goshen.
R Duane Lillibridge appointed area president for BancOhio Corporation in the Northwest region, based at BancOhio Citizens Banking in Perrysburg. He will oversee Delta Napoleon Perrysburg Sandusky and Tiffin banks, effective Feb 14 1979. He has led BancOhio National Bank Loveland since 1973 and previously held executive roles at BancOhio Hocking Valley and First National Coshocton.
