The Clermont County Genealogical Society meets the first Friday monthly at the Clermont County Public Library. Charles Duncan speaks Feb 2 on Indians and artifacts. A three night beginner class runs Feb 2, 9, 16. Officers elected for 1979 include Aileen Whitt as president and Doris Wood as vice president. The group reports 204 members from 28 states and works on a Clermont County marriages book 1800 to 1850, a surname file, obituary file, and plans microfilming old newspapers for preservation among other projects.

Clermont County Diagnostic Center elects officers
The newly formed Board of Directors for the Clermont County Diagnostic Center Inc met January 9 at the Clermont County Diagnostic Center. Members of the 169 Board attended and thanked the new board for serving children. Officers elected were Kenneth Zuk as chairman James F Truske as vice chairman Thomas Eisentraut as secretary and Thomas Ruthmeyer as treasurer.

One man art show by Clermont College student Ken Chappell
Ken Chappell, a part time Clermont College student, presents his first one man art show from January 10 to 25 featuring bold portraits and landscapes in watercolor. He works in pencil to acrylics and aims to pursue art as a career. The exhibit is free during college hours with varying daily schedules. An Ohio Genealogical Society meeting follows on January 27 at Ninth Street Baptist Church with curator Audrey Gilbert as speaker.
