Grand Jury Clears Paul Snider in Tremper Case

The 15 member grand jury convened Tuesday to hear Paul Snider of New Richmond on first degree murder charges in the Tremper death. Prosecutor F. A. Roberts and Judge Chas White presided. Tremper died after a Jan 10 shooting. ten witnesses testified. The grand jury returned a no bill and Snider was released.

New County Project Formed Under CWA in Clermont

Project No. 87 formed in Clermont county with 0 Q Leonard of Batavia as supervisor and Mrs Ollie Wood as assistant. Ex veterans receive appointment preference. Task is to compile delinquent tax duplicates for townships with three acre plots, list total taxes due for 1926 to 1982, and report to Washington DC over several weeks. Some think delinquency may be cancelled.

A 99 year old Civil War veteran from Williamsburg township is blind and uses a wheelchair. He hopes to reach his 100th birthday on September 2.

Applications Filed For CWA Work In County

John Collins and R D Gallagher from the CWA registration office report daily filings for potential county developments. All projects show full up to date status. over 400 placements exist with more than 170 applicants. Forty three laborers are laid off and work hours are cut to 15 per week. Clermont County School Board Reorganizes Leaders

J. Scott of Bethel was reelected president at the annual re organization meeting. Dr. W. H. Gaskins was reelected vice president and E. A. Norris was reelected attendance officer. The annual appropriation budget was approved.

Milk permits sought for dairy producers in Clinton county

CWA Program Cuts Hours and Men in Clermont County

Clermont county's Civil Works Administration reduces weekly hours to 15 and cuts the man quota by four, with pay dropping to 7.50 per worker. Projects must finish by February 15. unworthy tasks to be abandoned and transfers considered if needed. Readied projects include road ditching, retaining walls, paving and school and village works across White Oak, Ten Mile Creek, Franklin Laural, Clermontville, Batavia, New Richmond, Bethel, Williamsburg and related sites.

Ohio Legion to press for school funding in upcoming sessions

The Ohio American Legion plans a legislative push to secure enough revenue to keep Ohio schools open. McCaw says posts statewide will urge county level pleas, with a wartime council set to finalize plans after a meeting with business, professional, and farm groups. Patchell Named Sanitary Inspector for Clermont County

James Patchell of Batavia has been appointed sanitary inspector for Clermont county under Dr. R. Colburn, county health officer. The program calls for investigating outside toilets and introducing sanitary ones with the owner supplying materials and a seven man crew from the government.
