Her chair and those of her daughters Lou Connor and Naoma Harlow were noted as vacant, Naoma near illness. Banks Merge in Williamsburg Forming Merchants & Farmers Bank
Merger of Merchants and Farmers and First National Banks of Williamsburg completed after favorable ruling by the comptroller of currency. Kearns Names Portsmouth Youth to West Point Cadetship

Death of Chas. M. Johnson in Hillsboro
Chas. M. Johnson died at his North High street home last Thursday from a long illness. Aged about 60, he ran the Hotel Parker in Hillsboro for ten years before retiring due to ill health. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. Rev. Chas. Bennett officiated. Interment followed in Owensville Clermont county. He is survived by wife and four children Myra Claudine Mrs. Earle V. Miller and Christie Johnson. He was brother of A. T. Johnson, formerly Clermont Hotel manager.

Probate Court Consolidation Moves Forward in Adams County

Bank bids high interest for Highland county deposits
The Peoples National Bank of Greenfield was chosen Monday by county commissioners as depository for inactive Highland county deposits at 4.36 percent. Three Hillsboro banks will manage active deposits at 1 percent each. Minimum inactive deposits set at 50 000 dollars. Leesburg and Highland County Bank bid 4.07 percent. Auditor Ridgway says the county will earn more interest under the new arrangement, contract running three years.
