West Clermont Board adopts revised tentative budget amid dispute

Amelia The West Clermont school board rescinded a prior resolution objected to by member Chris Rosenhoffer, then adopted a revised version. The board approved a tentative 1965 budget of 3 261 474 with allocations for wages bus drivers janitors and administration and authorized a 240 000 loan from Amelia State Bank to cover February payroll and retire a 100 000 debt. Frank Hackney Jr USN husband of Jacqualine Beach participated in Medlandex 1-65 amphibious exercise aboard USS Arcturus off Sardinia to train Marine and fleet units in full scale operations.

New Ohio Dwelling Insurance System Expands Deductible

A revised dwelling insurance plan in Ohio expands the $50 deductible to all property damage coverages while still offering full coverage. Director William R. Morris notes most owners can avoid large premium hikes, with some paying a small increase for deductibles. Also listed is naval information about Roger K. Pierce Trustees Meet In New Hall

Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7 30 p m and the public is invited. Rounds during January 1 16 included visits to Veterans Hospital Jewish Hospital Our Lady of Mercy and a home. The Moore Funeral Service and Christ Hospital Cincinnati hosted services. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery Owensville. He leaves a wife and three daughters.

Clermont Northeastern approves 765 495 general fund

At its first regular meeting of the year the Clermont Northeastern Board of Education approved a General Fund appropriation of 765 495, up from 735 129 last year. Total Bond Retirement was 87 913.75 versus 60 575 a year ago. The board also approved land bills, Title I purchase applications, and discussed adjacent land.

Milford police report six youths aged 16 and 17 along with 18 year old Dennis C. Goodin charged in a burglary ring. Break ins include Milford Medical Center and Terrace Park pro shop. Cars in Milford, Norwood, and Madisonville looted. Goodin faces Grand Jury, $1,000 bond, and separate clothing theft case.

Downtown Milford Assn Elects Five Officers for 1965

The Milford Downtown Business Association held a January 12 meeting at First Milford Savings to elect officers for 1965. Outgoing president Tom Jordan and newly elected Charles Shaw led the event with members including Mrs. John Farley and Mrs. Virginia Critchell. Bill Gayheart won a $25 prize for best Christmas store window decorations.

The American Auxiliary Unit 450 will hold the Mothers March of Dimes in Milford on Monday Jan 25 from 7 to 8 pm led by president Mrs Esther Fitzwater. Residents are urged to be home with porch lights on as callers visit Terrace Park and Newtown areas with coordinators Mrs Thomas Dorger and Mrs F Bud Froehlich. The campaign notes vaccines reduced polio but now faces post-polio challenges for survivors.

Batavia Board elects Simmons president and officers

Dr. Charles M. Simmons was re elected president of the Clermont County Board of Education at the January 16 reorganizational meeting. William Schroer was chosen vice president and other members include Harry Kahle and J A Ashton. Mrs Ruby Hamilton and Herman Johnson spoke on Batavia Schools.
