Robert Winterberger was elected president of the Goshen Board of Education and Myrtle Holt named vice president at the organizational meeting on January 4. Winterberger appoints Holt to the Great Oaks Joint Vocational School Board. meetings set for the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Board of Education office. The board approved compensation for members, joined the Ohio School Boards Association for 1982, and bought liability insurance for trustees. Temporary appropriations totalling 5 065 742 37 were approved for vend or expenditures. A 3.9 mill operating levy was placed on the March 23 1982 ballot, expected to raise over 200 000 per ten dent. Russell noted Goshen lost over 100 students and staff cuts would be considered in spring. Gail Bullock Vaught hired as education teacher in the Intermediate school to replace Lavilla Robinson who retires January 15. Cincinnati attorney George Roberts hired to represent the board in negotiations and legal matters.
