The John Farina Post of the American Legion in New Richmond sent 60000 cigarettes overseas for Christmas. Twenty thousand went to the South Pacific, 20000 to Italy, where a letter from a recipient in Italy thanked the post and its No 550 for the care. Plans call for a dance near Washington's Birthday at New Richmond High School auditorium, with armed forces members invited to meetings held on the second and fourth Mondays at Point Pleasant.

Marathon Man Held on Auto Theft Charge
Paul Warman of Marathon is bound over to the Clermont county grand jury on auto theft charges after allegedly stealing a car from Lloyd Snell. He cannot meet the $1,000 bond and remains jailed in Clermont awaiting grand jury action.
