The Clermont county grand jury adjourned after a four day session examining 92 witnesses across 12 cases. Seven true bills were returned while five were ignored. Indictments included Guy Adams for carrying concealed weapons Roy Euell for failure to provide for a child George McKee for cutting with intent to kill and to wound E L Whitney for petit larceny Charles Short for carrying concealed weapons. New Relief Commission Takes Appointments After Resignations
The soldiers relief commission will meet the last Wednesday in January to review relief applications. A M Dimmitt of Batavia and Mr Witham of Withamsville resigned. Farm yield lists 65 tons silo filled from 20 acres corn and a cellar with tomatoes fruit pickles kraut potatoes pumpkins and other produce. Narrow Escape From Fly Wheel Accident At Engine
Clarence Plumner a 19 year old resident of Seaman narrowly escaped death while operating a gasoline engine. His loose blouse was drawn into the fly wheel by suction, he freed himself with great effort but was thrown to the ground bruising his face and injuring his back. Close Call for Williamsburg Mail Agent on Train
Walter Smith of Williamsburg, a Cincinnati to Huntington mail agent, narrowly escaped serious injury last week when a train man abruptly stopped the engine. He was thrown against a metal letter case, nearly breaking his arm and scattering mail in the car. After 28 years on the job, the incident marks his closest call and he remains a popular figure in the service.
