Earl Fishback 73 former Batavia board of education member and longtime meat market operator died Friday January 13 at his home 150 N Fifth Batavia. Funeral services were held January 16 at Moore Funeral Home Batavia with burial in Batavia Cemetery. Survived by wife Julia nee Buerkle son Louis and a granddaughter.

Youth and Juveniles Admit Burglaries and Theft
Two juvenile boys driving a stolen car in Cincinnati led to the arrest of 18 year old Jerry Johnson of Glen Rose Lane. The youths, ages 14 and 15, admitted burglaries of six homes and thefts of seven autos across county residences. Johnson faces charges for contributing to delinquency as officials recover a ring, rifle, and stopwatch from the Pommer t home and other locations.

Fire destroys barn on Lamb farm near town
Fire at 7:30 a.m. Monday caused heavy damage to the barn on the Charles A. Lamb farm at 8673 Clough Pike. Anderson Township volunteer firemen fought the blaze and saved several animals and a tractor. roof was reported destroyed.

Clermont County reports higher year end tax stamp receipts with total last year rising to 397 467 35 from 374 706 09. Weekly prepaid tax receipts for the week ending Dec 31 reached 49 091 34 versus 51 380 84 a year earlier. Clermont County will add 150000 unspent last year to the 1961 road and bridge fund, bringing total available money to 750000.
