Clermont County warns dog owners that January 20 is the final day to apply for licenses without penalty. Those unable to visit Batavia may mail applications postmarked by January 20 to avoid a $1 penalty after Thursday. Last year penalties totaled $1086.

The Loveland National Farm Loan Association held its annual meeting in Batavia on January 11, 1938. Fred Yeomans and Roy Philhower were elected directors for three year terms, Ray W. Ferree and Henry Schubert for two year terms, and J. B. Poe for one year, initiating a staggered term system per the Farm Credit Act.
